CODE is a course for everyone aspiring to be an effective ‘Digital Teacher’. It is recommended for all faculty members, administrative staff and educationists to learn art and craft of online teaching and be able to design and implement ‘online courses’.
Course Outcomes:

Demonstrate the significance and role of online and distance education in improving the quality of education and training.

Develop skills as an efficient and effective team member of distance and technology-enhanced learning departments.

Develop self paced, instructor lead and blended courses with quality standards.

Create effective and engaging multimedia learning contents for different types of online courses.

Effectively manage and utilize commonalty used Learning Management Systems.

Recognize the current role of new educational technologies beyond the boundaries of traditional mediums.

Apply principles of learner engagement in an online environment and distance courses.

Demonstrate trends, issues, and challenges in online education at the global, national, and local levels.

Identify his/her professional development needs to professionalize his/her practice as an educator and lifelong learner.
The course comprises of six modules:

Module 1: Online Instructional Designs, Learner Engagement & Ethical Aspects

Module 2: Multimedia Learning Tools 1

Module 3: Learning Management Systems

Module 5: Online Assessments and Gamification
This course is of 6 months duration, with monthly 2 synchronous sessions of 2 hours (alternate Saturdays from 4-6 pm PST +5GMT) , asynchronous learning on course site with 2 assignments, including e-Portfolio. A multimedia-rich online component is an integral part of the course. Both synchronous and asynchronous learning tools will be utilized. Learning and assessment included video demonstrations, animated videos, discussion forums, live online sessions, online assessments, assignments and e-portfolio.
