This 3-month online program is designed to equip healthcare professionals with practical knowledge and skills in managing common endocrine disorders. Through a mix of recorded lectures, reading materials, interactive quizzes, and live case-based discussions, participants will gain confidence in diagnosing and managing common endocrine conditions, with a special focus on resource-limited settings.
More importantly it will equip the participants to know when to refer the patients to Endocrinologists for further management.
Outcomes of this programme
- Describe the basic physiology of the endocrine system and recognize common clinical presentations of endocrine disorders encountered in primary care.
- Apply current diagnostic criteria and formulate evidence-based management plans for patients with diabetes mellitus, including pharmacological and lifestyle interventions.
- Interpret thyroid function tests and manage common thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and thyroid nodules in primary care settings.
- Identify the key clinical features of adrenal and pituitary disorders and determine appropriate initial investigations and referral pathways.
- Assess and manage patients with obesity, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and metabolic syndrome using guideline-based approaches.
- Postgraduate Award: 03 Months
This course is of 3 months duration, with monthly two zoom synchronous sessions. A multimedia-rich online component on Learning Management System is an integral part of the course which comprises of animated videos, important links, resources as well as collaborative discussion forums. Assessment included assignments and Quizzes.
